Since calling out the failure of the illegal attack on Iran due to poor planning in Monday’s Lament, the disaster has continued to escalate, causing significant global consequences.

Despite official statements from the Trump administration, the United States now faces a critical and unsustainable situation from which there appears to be no viable off-ramp. The facts reflect this reality.

Due to years of preparation and strategic resolve, Iran currently holds the advantage, driven by a determination to overcome US and Israeli influence. Although Iran faces harsh consequences, its leadership believes there is no alternative.

In summary, the Trump administration, under Donald Trump and a group of unqualified officials, initiated an illegal and unjustified conflict with Iran. This decision was made without fully understanding the context and was heavily influenced by Israel’s Netanyahu.

This decision was made impulsively and went against the advice of nearly all experienced officials in the US government and military. The removal of qualified professionals, influenced by Elon Musk, remains a topic warranting further investigation and criminal charges by a subsequent political entity.

Through years of neoliberal corruption, the American munitions available for his war included only about two to three weeks of the most important and expensive offensive and defensive systems.

This is an imperial disaster, not just a regime-ending one. So what happens now?

Trump is cornered, but we have no idea when he will come to understand that. His sycophants are telling him only what he wants to hear, leaving the real world far behind.

This is the most dangerous time. Trump has responded violently when told things he does not want to hear, but Trump is, like many mentally small bullies, a coward and does not want to die. But some of his cabinet members have psychopathic characteristics tied to millenarian religious cults.

They show no reluctance to act in total disregard for any national or international law or any ethical standards. These people have the largest nuclear arsenal on the planet at their command.

At this point, there is no one who could be counted on to stop them from continuing to escalate the attack on Iran to a nuclear level. And this definitely includes Netanyahu and the Zionists, who have brought the state of Israel to a level of functional insanity.

This ill-conceived and criminal war is lost. That would be bad enough for a rapidly declining empire refusing to accept a new reality, but that this defeat was achieved by a revolutionary Islamic Republic with 5,000 years of history is a fate worse than death to some significant portion of the US population.

The entanglement of religious, millenarian insanity plays to America’s suicide and mass murder history. The religious, colonialist, and white supremacist characteristics that have been manipulated politically are not a good mix for this.

Yes, it is time to be very, very afraid.

The best hope was that more rational members of Trump’s regime would convince him that he could still play the victor by simply declaring so and bringing everyone home. That was Trump’s goal and a traditional way to lie his way out of a bad situation, but Netanyahu refused to let him play that card, and now Iran has just removed that option.

The Iranian leadership is very rational and is neither stupid, ignorant, nor unrealistic, even with their Islamic religious traditions. They are working with Russia, Pakistan, and, to a limited extent, with India, and have produced the terms for the termination of this war, eliminating its return:

On March 12, 2026, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian clearly outlined three key conditions for ending the ongoing conflict with Israel and the United States. In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Pezeshkian emphasized that peace would only be possible if:

• Iran’s legitimate rights are recognized internationally, potentially linked to the recent leadership transition following the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the reported rise of Mojtaba Khamenei.

• Reparations are paid for damages caused during the conflict.

• Binding international guarantees are provided to prevent future acts of aggression against Iran.

Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s commitment to peace, citing discussions with leaders from Russia and Pakistan.

China was not mentioned, but remains active in the background and is acting in its new role as the lead nation.

This is a good set of terms from which to start the negotiation, as they are better than an unconditional surrender, but Iran will not accept a temporary ceasefire to start this. They know that both the Trump regime and the Zionist regime in Israel cannot be trusted. Who can blame them?

The vast majority of the US population has come to understand the Trump disaster, even if they are currently avoiding confronting its full reality. Will they force the weak and corrupt Congress to act? Is there anyone there to take the lead in forcing Trump and all his clowns to resign?

This is unacceptable, obviously, for the Trump regime and its core supporters in the US. Getting them out of their current delusional state into reality quickly enough to prevent a planetary economic disaster, or worse, may not be possible.

This also requires the US to manage Israel in the development of an actual agreement and treaty to do this. Israel, as noted above, is also a wild card and may not be rational, as this war is their effort to create Greater Israel. That is the Zionist goal from the creation of the Israeli entity on Palestinian lands, in the breakup of the ruins of the Ottoman Empire.

We have too much functional insanity involved here to have much hope for avoiding a cataclysmic disaster. Even if Trump can be convinced to end the war or, better, resign, the damage done economically to the planet will take the rest of this year to recover if its ends this month, and I’m being optimistic. We are in a world of tipping points and polycrisis.

Iran has the advantage. Simply continuing to destroy Tehran with Vietnam-era B-52 raids will only delay the inevitable and bring about the destruction of the Gulf states. This has already been escalated by Trump to include an Iranian desalination plant.

Iran’s response, if nothing changes, will make the Gulf states uninhabitable, along with Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, as they are all 70-90% dependent on desalination for their water supplies.

Iran can take all of them out in a day or two, with tremendous human suffering among the refugees.

The world we knew two weeks ago is gone, and Trump has destroyed it. That is karmic justice. Something else of which Trump has no knowledge.
